Kelvedon Hatch is situated in Essex, England.
Through the centuries up to the mid-1960s, the main activity in the parish was agriculture. However, the parish was not a backwater, some of the people who lived here were witnesses to many important events in English Social and Economic History.
This web site, brought to you by History House is the story of the parish and of some of its inhabitants.

Eagle Public House 1910.

I'm doing my family tree and see plenty of links to the Sitch's at Kelvedon Hatch but I'm having trouble linking the names with the info I have. I'm guessing that my link is through the James Sitch (b. 1832) / Catherine Curtis (b. 1810) marriage? Any info / links would be greatly appreciated!

Researching a realtive who died at Kelvedon Hall Sept 1936. Any info about the convent/school there at the time, where the nuns went after this period. Anyone who recalls anything about this tragedy. I already have newspaper & Coroner's reports and the very useful local booklet. Especially keen to find out where our relative, Catherine Gallivan, was buried.
