Currently displaying at Colchester Castle is an exhibition which seeks to show that the 400 years of the medieval period was not a time of darkness and barbarity, but one of great artistry and skill.
The Medieval Mind: Art Treasures from East Anglia runs from 5th December 2009 until 3rd July 2010.
The exhibition reveals the true colour and achievement of a fascinating period in our history. This wide ranging exploration of the medieval psyche explores themes such as civic pride, the regal image, religious art and the natural world.
Entrance to The Medieval Mind is free, after normal Castle admission charge. Open Mon – Sat 10am to 5pm. Sun 11am to 5pm.
