The National Archives has announced that their collection of records relating to courts and convicts is to be transcribed, digitised and published online by brightsolid online publishing which owns Find My Past and GenesReunited.
The records date from 1792 and are from various sources including Metropolitan Police, Prison Commission, Home Office, Central Criminal Court and the Admiralty, and cover a wide range of different material. The exact details of the records have not yet been published.
This is a very labour intensive project and it is anticipated that it will not be until at least December 2012 before the first records are published online.
