For those of you who have access to the British Library’s 19th century newspapers via Essex Libraries, or your own library, and have not visited it lately, I would suggest a return visit. I’ve just done some searches and I’ve noticed several more publications appearing in the results. These are recent additions. They appear in the results with the words “British Library Newspapers Part II” next to them.
Among them I’m seeing, The Essex County Standard, West Suffolk Gazette, and Eastern Counties Advertiser, The Standard (London), The Yorkshire Herald, and The York Herald, Leicester Chronicle and the Leicestershire Mercury. There are several more.
I notice, however, that they do not yet appear on the pay-per-view on http://newspapers.bl.uk/blcs/. Perhaps that will be available soon.
